Finance Specialist

The role of the Finance Specialist is to work with our financial management firm and payroll company to provide efficient sharing of data and information, track income and expenses according to the operating budget and financial policies and protocols of the synod, and work with the Office of the Bishop to manage staff payroll and as needed professional human resources.

This part-time position (approximately 15 hours/week) is responsible to the Office of the Bishop and will work in conjunction with the Synod Treasurer and Finance Team.

Chris George has always been passionate about working in the background of the church and seeing how it is run and organized for many years. He has been active in the Upstate NY Synod his whole life as a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Depew. He has also served on many boards in his tenure such as several terms on the Synod Council, Lutheran Charities Board of Directors, Lutheran Youth WNY Board, Treasurer for the Niagara Frontier Conference, and he serves as the current President of the Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center Board of Directors.

Working with all of the people who are as passionate about walking alongside others in their faith journeys in a positive way is how he lives out his faith!

When not attending a board meeting Chris resides in Buffalo NY where he works as a Senior Team Leader for Key Banks Contact Center and an avid Buffalo Bills season ticket holder! GO BILLS!!

Chris is excited for this new opportunity to work with the larger church and will always be striving to make it the best it can be!
