The Rev. D. Lowell Chilton also serves the people of First Lutheran Church as pastor and mariners from all over the world who carry goods to the ports of Albany and Coeymans as a chaplain with the Albany Maritime Ministry, a position supported by a partnership with Seafarers International House NYC and shared with Pastor Kate Drefke.

Prior to moving to New York's Capitol Region, Lowell served the people of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Berlin, PA as pastor. Prior to that, he served the people of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Anchorage, Alaska as Interim Synod Authorized Minister. He received his Master of Divinity from the Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry in 2017, with a year of Lutheran studies at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley California.
