Executive Assistant to the Bishop and Office Manager
Strong administrative and communication skills are the core of the Executive Assistant position. This role is the liaison between the Bishop, his staff, pastors, congregations, officers, committees and all those with whom he communicates.
The Bishop depends on his Executive Assistant in the preparation of events, meetings, travel, ordinations, communication and the compilation of reports and information. These duties require extensive knowledge of Word, Excel and Basecamp along with other technical systems. Knowledge of the ELCA Mobility Database System affords me the opportunity to assist and walk with the pastors and congregations as they move through the call process.
The role of Office Manager requires supervision and management of the office staff, maintenance of office supplies and equipment, oversight in preparation for Synod Assembly and consistent maintenance of congregational and pastoral rosters. Strong interpersonal and communication skills enable positive and productive interaction with office staff.
As part of the synod staff, my roles allow me the opportunity to live the mission of resurrection people who pray first, walk together and change lives on a daily basis. As I walk with the Bishop, I walk with all of you and together we see how God changes lives! Praise Jesus. Kathy has served in this position since December 2007.
