In June, our synod will be meeting at our annual assembly in Rochester. The Hunger Task force is always a lively presence there, and this year will be no exception.
Last year money was raised for wells. This year, let's build barns, and provide mosquito nets in the ongoing effort to eradicate malaria.
The challenge to congregations is $400 each, which represents ½ of a barn in the Global Barnyard toward the goal of 56 barns ($800 each) and 56 malaria nets ($10 each) for a total of $45,360 to send to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal. Of course, some congregations can't realistically meet that challenge, but maybe others can surpass it.
Bring your contribution to the assembly, and look for the Hunger Task team at the Mission Faire-they're always right at the bottom of the stairs. Watch during the course of the assembly as the current tally reaches toward the goal, and know that your congregation is part of that success. Thank you!

***If at all possible, please bring a check from your congregation and not cash. Because the assembly ends on a Saturday, there is no access to depositing the funds in a bank, and holding cash till Monday is complicated!
