For many decades we have known that growing the faith of our young people has been achieved in many thousands of lives through a Lutheran camping experience.

A recent study showed that a majority of our clergy traced their sense of call to the ministry in part to a Christian camping experience. In recent years there has been a dramatic growth in the role of our camps, now outdoor ministry centers, in small group ministry and leadership development for adults, couples, and congregation councils.

Our synod facilities are in healthy patterns of growth. At the same time no camps, nationally, successful as they may be are able to bear the costs of capital improvements through increased fees. Therefore, we feed the roots by addressing the significant capital improvements that must be
made.
